I don't know - there's a urge in media these days to shy away from seasoned professionals and go with "what's hip". That's why Adam and Jamie worked as hosts - they knew what they were talking about, and they had the charisma to lead it.

You have to have the right feel for a host. They need to feel credible. There are hosts that I love like Simone Gertz, who I think would be entertaining but lack the Credibility. She's great, and i know she knows her stuff, but she dosent have that presence. Alton Brown, for example does. When he talks, you get the feeling that he knows exactly what he's talking about.
