This sums it up so damn well. People are fending both sides blindly without thinking that maybe the kid in the news is just as at fault as the cop who went too far. As is the school that put them both in a situation that was bound to go badly.

She had been asked to leave, and she refused. The officer was called in and she refused to comply. The officer was out of line in how he handled the situation, but she is also far from an innocent victim. It's not as if the officer walked into a random room, picked the darkest kid he could find and slammed them to the ground. What he did was wrong, but both the student and the officer share the blame for what happened.

I actually do agree with you, those things do help and should be the norm. But you can't expect society to be the only fix, if parents were to take an active role in the upbringing of their kids alot of that can be helped (I know it's not possible for everyone, my wife and I both work full time jobs and are raising a 13 yr old).
