The college I went to actually went on a firing spree and got rid of like, 40-something adjuncts with having almost no plan on who's going to teach those classes.
They ended up picking some of the adjuncts back up to teach a class or two each.
This was a school with like 5,000 undergrads so it screwed with a lot of our schedules.
