Hi Professor Nutt, before I get to my question I'd just like to commend you for standing your ground in the wake of a swathe of political and journalistic pressures and dragoons. I'm sure that many others alongside myself have found the attitude that you have towards harm reduction and treating people very inspiring, so thanks always for your contributions and representations.

My question is in regards to depersonalisation disorder, from which I've suffered for about 8 years now. I've personally and carefully been self-medicating using MDMA to consistent, albiet temporary, success for about two years now. So far, it is the only method of many I've employed that has shown any success at all. I was wondering if cases of depersonalization or derealization disorder remission had come up during your research or if there were considerations to study the effect of MDMA on sufferers? I'd slide into an fMRI under the influence in a heartbeat if it could shed some light on how DPD remission functions.

It comes down to the very real risks versus the severity of the symptoms in the mean time, unfortunately. I hope research can begin in earnest one day soon. Thanks for the response!

Hi Jeff!

I don't know if you're still checking back here, but I'm another long-term fan dropping by to say thanks again. I don't know if you remember but I emailed you back around 2003-4 when I was a budding game developer in high school and asked if you'd ever thought about porting Exile to the Gameboy Advance :p You sent me a very nice reply and it gave me a lot of faith in contacting my heroes. Good times!

Well, I did go on to make a game while at university, I never released it but it was made for Android a few years ago; I was really happy with it. I'm working in web development now but I still play the Exile series from time to time, in fact I never let myself go without an emergency copy of Exile 3 on a backwards compatible PC at all times.

Thanks again for all the inspiration and fun over the years, I'm glad you're still doing what you love. I'll be sure to jump into Avadon or the Avernum remake when I get some free time!
