well the rap game is mostly seen as a competition by many artists. other forms of music may vary but just look at the amount of rap feuds that have happened since rap got big. Many of these feuds ruin the opponents career. And if you don't strive to be the best where does the motivation come from to write insane rhymes and lyrics?
