I'm late to the party but my brother is going to prison soon. I've read all questions and appreciate the discussion.

First, our father is concerned that putting too money on his commissary card will make him a target. Is this possible?

Second, what were family members able to send? Letters only? What are the limitations of what you can send someone, how often is delivered to the inmate (daily? Weekly?) And what are able to bring for the inmate in visitation?

Third, how often are inmates allowed to make calls and for how long?

I imagine all of this varies prison to prison but a first hand account would be nice.
