Using the term "hacking" in place of the term "change" doesn't instantly make you beloved by the techy scene. I think the term "trying too hard" applies here, leave the "hacking" to people who break into computers. You're analyzing public data for the sake of the public good, don't cloud your efforts with incorrect terminology.

Did you get a '99 year lease' since foreigners can't own land in Mexico?

Size/cost of the land? And do you think it was a reasonable price?

Cost/time for the construction? How much do you think you saved by helping out?
