Hi Todd,

I've been a fan of yours for quite a while, your work on Spider man was fantastic, and Spawn's art was like nothing I'd seen before.

But the reason I popped in on your ama was to compliment your work on Kingdoms of Amalur, Reckoning. I found the game to be very fun, and really enjoyed the character designs. I thought the game was generally underrated, and you could tell a great deal of work went into it. It's a shame about what happened with the studio, I thought the game franchise had great potential.

Do you have any future plans to get back into game development/design in any way, or have you completely written off anything in that medium for the time being?

Hi greg!

First off, you have created 2 of my favorite old games, so thank you for that. Toejam and earl was innovative, weird, and very fun. A good friend and i spent many hours trying to beat it, got to level 22 but couldn't beat it, i think we missed a ship piece somewhere. Remember being upset with those damn mystery boxes resetting, you cruel man. Did love the hottub on the very bottom. Looking forward to playing the updated version.

I can also remember starflight, and playing it on my c64. A damn fine space exploration, remember great times exploring planets for resources and strange alien artifacts, assembling a diverse crew, and trying to negotiate out of fights. It was so far ahead of anything else like it. Loved the ant people, enjoyed the weird space combats. I also seem to remember something about a tesseract...

Ah, the days when EA on the box represented great, innovative games. Seems so long ago.

Anyway, question time: as someone who remembers Starflight, what concepts are you bringing forward from the original to this new game (races, exploration, parley, etc), and how do you plan to adapt your original vision to all the new ideas that have come since (no man's sky, mass effect, starbound, etc)? What is going to make the new starflight unique in relation to the many other space themed games out and coming out?

I really hope you and your project the best, I remember how good the original was, and am hoping your new game is as innovative and engrossing as the first.

First, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your exceptional work on so many films/shows that I love. Your Star wars ships are so iconic and well designed, they are a huge part of what makes Star wars so compelling. Close encounters and space odyssey are both fantastic films, and I watched the heck out of Buck Rogers when I was young. A very underrated show with great designs and ideas (And the inspiration for birdperson). It is humbling to realize that so many great designs and ideas came from one very talented brain.

Now for my 3 part question: As someone who has worked extensively in scifi, as well as real space work,

1) What is your opinion on extraterrestrial life?

2) If and when aliens make contact with us, what do you think will happen?

3) If you could fly any of your designs in real life, which one would you pick, and why?

Thanks so much for doing this ama, I look forward to all your responses.

Are you folks considering a ps4 and/or Mac port of pit people? Been wanting to play it for a while but don't have the right platform to play it. Love castle crashers, keep making great games.
