I’m in recovery from severe drug and alcohol addiction (also a nurse btw 😁) and have had to have a couple surgeries since getting sober. I always talk to doc/CRNA beforehand about my sobriety and I’ve had nothing but support from them. Regionals have been wonderful for me. I had a really extensive abdominoplasty a couple years ago and only needed a day of narcotics thanks to regional anesthesia.

Be honest - have you ever come across something in a locker that was so cool/odd/valuable that you took it for yourself?

I’m a CNA and current nursing student. I’ve always been drawn to corrections nursing, and also psych nursing. Sometimes I feel like there’s an overlap between the two. What kind of personality would you say is best suited to working “in your shoes”? I’m a very caring individual - when a patient acts out, I always try and read between the lines to try and figure out where the behavior is coming from. But I’m also not afraid to put my foot down and tell a patient that their behavior is unacceptable and you won’t treat me/speak to me like that again.

Also, I’ve been told that I’m fairly attractive (this is debatable, IMO) and I’ve been warned that inmates might try to make sexual advances toward me. Have you ever seen this happen to some of the female nurses?
