So true. A friend asked how things were going (rare on its own), and when I replied "it's going okay", they responded with "just okay?".

And I cried. Just because someone cared enough to ask.

Thanks for asking. Since the anecdote I shared, things have generally gone downhill until the last two weeks or so.

What changed? Hit a low point, had an epiphany* or two^ , started taking counselling, pushed myself to get back into my side hustle, and started working out.

*you know how they say to make achievable goals? ( Shoutout to /r/nonzeroday ) Sometimes if you only make a few of these, it's hard to feel like you're making progress, even when you get through with them. I thrive under pressure, so my new trick is to assign myself LOTS of achievable goals.

no more mr nice guy. Being too 'nice' to others, and not speaking my mind when I know something is sub-par has led to losing respect at work, respect for myself, and respect for my craft. Figuring out which mountains are worth dying on is a tough process - at least for me.
