How did you come up with the idea to start a ragtime orchestra? I was a music major in college and never heard of the ensemble until I was a senior.

That's cool! What's your hometown? I'm from Houston and have never heard of one coming through here.

I don't know what size crowd you draw. Downtown, Jones Hall or the Wortham Center might be a good choice. You could also try Miller Outdoor Theater (typically this is good in the summer; but I think ticketing is funny there.)
Outside of downtown, you might try the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion in the Woodlands, or The Centrum in Cypress. I know there are other places, but I can't think of any more at the moment, other than school auditoriums. (If you want to come to Pasadena High School auditorium, I'd be happy to see what I can do to get you in there.)
(With the exception of the Centrum and the high school auditorium, most of these spaces are for pretty large crowds, in the 1000+ range).

Obligatory: Sondheim did not write Ragtime. The music was a collaboration between Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.
(Not to be a dick, just figured I'd make sure correct info got out :) )
