I’m going for a colonoscopy tomorrow (I don’t have any symptoms, am just at the age where it’s recommended for preventative screening). Just want to say that reading this makes me feel better about doing it!

Yes, so the procedure itself is really no big deal. The main hassle is the prep process. You can’t have any solid food the day before—and you have to take laxatives and drink a special liquid that completely empties your bowels, until you’re essentially pooing clear water…

I had a conventional septoplasty and didn’t find the recovery to be that big of a deal. It was basically a week of having my nose completely blocked with packing, followed by some daily nasal irrigation as it healed, and a couple of quick follow up visits to get stuff suctioned out. Though it did require general anesthesia and a few days of pain meds.

I was absolutely astonished when I took my first breath. The airflow felt like there was a giant hole in my face where my nose used to be! 10/10 would recommend.

Dude, tell me more. I’m one year out and could use some hope. Did these people make full recoveries?
