I understand people dont want to hear that around the time of a disaster and I understand that its a sensitive topic but its just not a sustainable plan of action to just rebuild it.

Living in the united states north midwest my home has been destroyed exactly zero times by weather events, nor has my family home over 100 years old.

My genuine condolences to the people living there. There should absolutely be aid programs to fully fund their relocation.
