I have a less severe case of asthma, but I've had the same issues. I had a doctor who took me off of albuterol to put me on Advair. Advair is not a rescue inhaler. My symptoms are well managed, but I have an attack every year or so.

I went to a different doctor asking for a rescue inhaler, and I got a battery of questions like why I don't want to be on advair and yadda yadda yadda. It's been 10 years and I haven't tried to get a rescue inhaler again because I can't stand to go deal with that line of questioning again.

+1 for this opinion. I think it's incredible.

I guess now (college) is the right time for trying it all. I don't want to try to be a jack of all trades. I'd much rather focus, but it's hard to choose which to focus on.
