You mentioned 2017 will blow us away with leaks, any chance you can speak to the context of these future leaks?

Was phase 3 of the email releases before the presedential election the speed up and increased volume of John Podesta's emails, or was phase 3 delayed. If so, can you speak to why and what phase 3 is about?

I'm currently studying at a professional level for investment analysis and portfolio management while working as an investment analyst, but a part of me has always wondered if I'd enjoy working in the video game industry more.

Game design is what interests me the most. Lore and art, while interesting, is never a concern for me. I always find myself breaking apart game systems in my head. I'll go to sleep thinking about how to improve Diablo 3's loot system and end-game progression, or spend my free time reading and learning the underlying thought process to the mechanic changes in WoW's raiding and combat systems. I absolutely love spending my time doing this.

I did a Google search for job postings of game designers, and some analytical game designer posting came up. Surprisingly, I think I can fit a lot of the qualities they are looking for. Namely, I have a professional level of study in statistics and mathematics, and have used this to analyze large portfolio data sets that helps decision making. I have an okay background in coding and databases. I also love video games and am a huge numbers geek.

I have a few questions for you:

  • Have you heard of the role of an analytical game designer before? How does this role relate to normal game design?

  • Video games are a passion of mine, but is that where it ends? How can I be (more) sure if I'd enjoy working on them? How did you learn that you would enjoy working on games, and not just playing and thinking about them?

  • Would my education and knowledge in investments and finance be viewed as beneficial?

  • What kind of starting salary are in these positions?

This is an idea I have toyed with for a long time, but never knew where I'd fit. Thanks for your time!

I've always thought about doing this, but I've had a few concerns:

I'm not really financially independent yet, and I'm saving every penny I'm making. Is this a bad time for me to participate?

The upsides are obvious, but what are some downsides you experienced? Any 'baby-daddy' drama?

Do they do any training with you? I have no prior experience with dealing with children as an authority figure.

Buy-side analyst here, very new as well in this position. Couple questions:

  1. Any tips for the new guy starting at the bottom hoping to get into a position similar to you? Until now (and still), my head has been buried in text books, and the lack of investment experience and a true, world-wide investment view makes me feel like I could be doing more, as that's not something I've been getting out of text books.

  2. Can you talk about your 4th point a bit more? What makes you see a bull market, when others see turmoil?

Hope all is well! Thanks for the IAmA.
