Did you find the cultures to overlap/change gradually as you travelled from region to region, or were there jarring contrasts between some borders?

I was once caught in the rain in Amsterdam and ended up trudging up and down the canal streets in search of my buddy's apartment.

At one point I took refuge in front of a glass door lined with pink lights without realising that it was a brothel entrance, and found myself face to face with a beautiful (as in, athletic girl next door with glasses beautiful) prostitute standing behind the glass in black lingerie. She immediately gave me a well-practiced but incredibly sincere looking wink, and I SAP'd outta there in doubleshuffle derp time.

To this day, I regret sticking to my travel budget that evening. I was also a virgin at the time, which is my only defense for being such a dweeb.

Sounds profitable.

Carmageddon physics ruined every other racing game for me for a really long time, nothing else was anywhere near as fun. Being able to drive a car that's been pulverised into a croissant is the greatest thing to ever happen in a racing/granny murder simulator.

What single entity has, in your opinion, had the greatest influence on US public opinion over matters of policy, both foreign and domestic? By influence I guess it could be both intentional on the part of that entity or as a collateral effect of its presence/behavior.
