Hi Diana, neuroscientist here. Do you realize that you are making a show featuring some of the most boring, one-dimensional people on earth?

Hey, thanks for the AMA. Here are some questions:

  1. Do you think your corn crop will come back next year and into the future or do you think rain has been decreasing (thus affecting your yields) over the years?

  2. If the drought continues into the future, do you worry about water? Is that something other farmers in your area worry about?

  3. What is the average age of farmers in your area?

Thanks again

Apologies in advance, but I have several questions I would very much like to ask you:

  1. When taking on new staff, is it preferred that they already be trained or that you train them?

  2. What systems are in place to preclude theft by the staff? Can you describe them in detail?

  3. When the family is not home, how is the home managed such that the staff actually works and doesn't, for instance, fall asleep or watch television?

  4. Is it expected that you stay nearby or on the estate all day long (24 hours) every day (7 day a week) or are you allowed personal time?

  5. If you are indeed allowed personal time, and you come back late or, alternatively, show up late for work for whatever reason, what is done to reprimand you? Is there a sliding scale of severity?

Thanks so much.

Is there a particular author or type of book that you can buy now for relatively little money (say, under $5000) and have it appreciate greatly over the next two decades?

I was just at Bauman's in Las Vegas and wanted to know if rare books are like art in that you can get better prices for them at auction (as opposed to retail)?
