I’m an actuary. How close am I to losing my job?

I don't live in Chicago, but I visit from Toronto on nearly a yearly basis. Lovely city, but it's a real shame to see the state of the southern entrance. This area has always been a mystery to me, because I never stop my car there, so it's extra awesome to read that there are teachers that are really trying to make a difference.

My question for you is:

If a child is born into a gang family, do you feel powerless to put an end to the cycle? How do you deal with this fact?
