Every profession was started by someone without any experience getting their hands dirty. To say someone shouldn't try something without proper education and experience would limit creative solutions.
And as for someone thinking it is so simple as you replied, if there were a simple answer, then you would be able to point to it and say doing anything else is a waste of time. The fact it is a complex problem which no one has solved is stronger proof of his argument than yours.

You went relatively affordable for your build. I think your most expensive things were the tent/camper addon. And you had the extra fuel and water tanks you put in (I think mostly yourself).
My question is, would you do the trip again without any of the mods you did? Like would you carry a ground tent / water cans / jerry cans? Or was this what you think was a minimum?

I love living in Canada..
No really, hardly a day goes by where I don't find myself thinking this. Your situation just scares the crap out of me.

$1750 is ridiculously cheap driving almost every day. I burn $200 in a single weekend just filling the tanks. Then add food, permits/visas, and literally doing anything else? I think you Severely underestimate the cost of travel
