It never asked, though. That's the whole point. It was setup that way by default from the time she got the phone. It never required any "configuring", it was just on, uploading all images via cellular.

Verizon killed it. My wife has been with them for like 15 years. She went to get a new phone a few months ago. No more grandfathered unlimited data plans. So the salesperson looked at her usage and recommended a data plan based on that. We went on vacation the following day and so she was taking photos with her phone. After 2 days we got a text saying she had reached 50% or her data allowance. After another day, we got a text saying we were at 75%. Apparently, the new phone automatically uploaded every photo and it was killing our usage. Thanks, Verizon!

Lumia 920. The Verizon rep set it up in the store. I wasn't there, but the wife is fairly tech savvy. She said he never asked anything about that setting, but it's possible he enabled it during set-up without ever mentioning it.

Hi Caty,

Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. What can the average citizen do to spread awareness and demonstrate our discontent with the people making these decisions that take away our public lands?
