I am a black dude currently living in Asia, I can totally relate to the people touching my hair and skin without asking

Oh it happens very often! Sometimes people may be brash and ask kind of insensitive questions (I often get asked "if I even wash" my hair), but I honestly just chalk it up to never meeting someone like me before. And I'm always happy to help expand their worldview by answering whatever questions they have :)

10 times out of 10 I'll anyone touch it, but I always emphasize that I'm the exception and not the rule, and that it is generally kind of strange and rude to ask to touch someone's hair - - let alone touching without their permission!

What do you think separates the artists who make it in the industry from those who don't?

Also, any up and coming new artists that you think are worth checking out now?
