So this might be awkward but I'm genuinely curious: what do development costs for something like Banner Saga 3 look like practically? From 1 and 2 you've already got presumably 90% of the engine and a ton of art assets you can reuse or modify, what is so costly about the development of a fairly iterative sequel?

I would recommend reading From Eternity to Here by Sean Carroll, an excellent book that's about exactly this topic in pretty good detail

Zachtronics has settled into a pretty steady genre of work, the "puzzley optimizer thing" game. I adore these games but you've also made five of them now as commercial releases; how much do you think about branching out a bit more and trying something different like Ironclad Tactics another time?
