As someone else has stated, there's a lot of other manufacturers they should be compared to. Tanner Goods, Chester Mox, etc.

To me, Saddleback stuff is sort of rougher, tougher, heavier and more bulky than what you find in some of the other options. Their hide is certainly tough, but it doesn't have the fineness, refinement, or sleekness some are looking for. Like comparing a denim jacket to a fine wool suit.

What are your thoughts on Thom Browne and the Thom Browne aesthetic?

Thrifting and eBay are your best friends. It's easy to find excellent suits and other garments for pennies on the dollar if you're willing to buy second hand.
