First of all let me start off by apologizing to you for what happened - I'm sure that it was a scary and distressing experience.

My question to you is this - did you feel that the amount of force used against you was proportional to the situation the SWAT officers felt like they were going into?

With no police/tactical experience of my own, I really can't see anything wrong with situation (the aftermath and post incident was mishandled, however with all the adrenaline that was involved conclusions are jumped to with information that they were told prior to the incident). If I was a SWAT officer going into a building where there was someone, possibly with a handgun/rifle, holding five people hostage I wouldn't want to take even the slightest risk to myself, my team or any hostages. In fact - I probably would have taken the door of it's hinges.
