Never done it in Mexico, but coming in and out of the US and British Virgin Islands that is very much the case.

A lot of people skip it coming back in without incident, but you risk some crazy fines and boat confiscation if you do. Not every little harbor is going to be set up for it, but the ones people use frequently for this kind of thing are.

How much does it actually cost for equipment + installation? For similar ISPs elsewhere I’ve easily seen $250 for installation and sometimes that doesn’t even include the equipment.

Of course when you have no other option, $250-500 is a no brainer. It would still never work in a more mainstream environment, though.

On a related note to your Europe comment... before moving here I’d never been asked for any kind of ID verification except the standard credit report questions (which of these companies did you have a loan through starting in...). What the hell is with that? “Send us a copy of your ID and credit card” is shady as shit to me. I don’t want some CSR making €500/m having everything they need to go on a shopping spree...

Also, if I stole someone’s wallet I’ve got both already, so are we really accomplishing anything here?

Oh, and a PDF of a bank statement being an acceptable proof of address... because it’s definitely impossible to edit a PDF (or the HTML it was printed from).

There are ranks of zamboni drivers? How many do you need?

That’s what I figured, but that means you’d be making more money but not driving the zamboni, so you’re still screwed.

Though being high enough up on the totem pole to take that bad boy out on the town for date nite... you won’t need that water pump after the ladies get a look at your ride.
