Do they take longer than is shown on the show to work it out or is that about right?

I'm an older person and decided to learn it after I saw a video of young kid solving 3 of them that he was juggling and I thought I should be able to do this. After all, I was a kid when they came out so its about time. I suck at memorising stuff like this but I would say learning to solve it without any prompting took me maybe 2 months but with a total learning time of about 20 hours. (Doing a couple of solves every day). Thing is to average people like me it isn't simple, although now I can do it whilst sitting on the loo it feels like it is...
