What was the inspiration behind the "Friend eating butterfly" episode, quite possibly the most absurd thing i've ever seen, not that it's a bad thing though. I have two questions if you don't mind. 1) I read on wikipedia (hence why i question its validity) that Oryx & Crake is meant to be seen as an adventure romance, not a science fiction book, is this true and if so, why do you feel it's more worthy of that title? 2) When I was reading through that book, it felt as if you were hinting that the Oryx that Crake has working for him and so on isn't the one they saw as a kid, but instead, a genetic modification or something similar to that, is that what you were aiming for?
