If it would be possible to genetically modify animals as to not being able to develop any intelligence or preferences, would it be okay to eat their meat?

Ever had writer's blocks or problems with being creative while having to meet deadlines?

Then a follow-up question: Should the preferences of someone in the future weight more than my current interest to eat that certain piece of meat? (purposly asking quite selfish)

Also: what about the fundamental (and maybe silly) argument, that decreasing the amount of people on the planet would be best for the climate. Should we then stop reproducing?
