Some of your answers suggest your siblings are trying to forget/repress traumatic abuse and move on within the cult. That makes it sound the abuse is in the past. If talking to you brings up these bad memories, that sounds like they aren't just getting more and more bad memories now. Can you expand on that?

That makes sense, I guess I'm just surprised that it sort of "got better". I would expect that kind of environment to cause further abuse in adulthood.

Good for you liberating yourself, and I'm impressed with the life you're building with that freedom.

You spent all that time in there knowing you were innocent. Did you come out thinking that was pretty common? That is, did you think there were a lot of others in your situation, or it's actually pretty rare?

That also makes sense. I'm just struck by the idea that if someone would have the goal of forgetting the past abuse by ignoring it, when they are receiving ongoing abuse today.
