The quote you posted only says elections ensure that those who are elected are qualified. I doesn't say that electors should be the arbiters of qualifications.

There were a lot of Federalist that were in love with the British system. Alexander Hamilton in particular wanted George Washington to be King of America. Thankfully Washington was probably the most awesome person that has ever lived and turned it down, and was constantly forfeiting powers to the congress. One example was after negotiating a treaty with someone he took it to the Senate and was like ok you need to ratify this shit; when all he had to do is say "this is ratified because I am POTUS mo fuck'as" but he didn't do that.

I watched your video last week. You seem like a pretty cool and humble guy.
Could you get in trouble for having venomous snakes in your apartment? I mean are there laws that prohibit that in your country?

Yep, and John Adams also was the defendant of British troops involved with the Boston Massacre. He, like the a lot of the founders, were complicated people who did awesome amazing things, but also some not so agreeable things.

Lincoln did abuse the constitution wholesale, but the abuses go way back before that. John Adams signed into law the Alien and Sedition Acts which made it a crime to criticize him and his cabinet, which was a giant middle finger to the first amendment. And even more scary was this was before Judicial review.
