How do you do it when several layers of parchment are stuck together? Is there any way to scan them all together and separate the script in different layers digitally, or do they separate the layers first?

the control of campaigns themselves needs to be returned to the people and taken out of the hands of corporations
The devil is in the details.
First, almost every organization of citizens is a corporation. What about organizations like AFL-CIO, Sierra Club, Greepeace, etc?
Second, what about people who are famous? Like Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They got elected because they were famous Hollywood actors.
Frankly, I think you exaggerate the importance of money. Financing is ONE factor that might handicap some people. Others are too short, not handsome enough, they stutter, they have yellow teeth, not enough hair, there are many different factors that may reduce the chances of someone winning an election. Nixon lost in 1960 because his stubble was too dense and dark.

Have you read John Reed's Ten Days that Shook the World?
I've read it and one thing that was very obvious to me is how many different opinions there were in the Russian revolution. The reason why the USSR ended like it did was because there were so many opinions and no one prevailed, there was no obvious alternative among the many different options.
In the end, the winning side was the most ruthless one, the faction that eliminated all others by force. That's why the Soviet Union ended in a dictatorship.
Do you have any answer to that problem, convincing other reformists about what should be the best solution in the current circumstances?
