Developing games for mobile platforms might be cool some day, if it aligns with the project we're working on... but our main focus is PC / console games really. There are lots of talented mobile devs out there, and we just kind of evolved in a different direction.
I said something similar to Joost, but I'm relieved to hear you guys want to stick with what you are good at instead of trying to jump on the same bandwagon as so many other companies.
I think you guys would be capable of making a great game on pretty much any platform, but I'm perfectly content with what you guys have done so far, and I'd rather you guys stick with platforms you are comfortable with then compromise on your standards and values to try something "trendy."
I honestly enjoyed sharing 'Nauts with people. I loved the game, and I still do, and (unfortunately) hardly anyone had ever heard of it, so I often got to share a great game with people that they enjoyed and never would have even heard of otherwise. It's like when you discover a band nobody knows about and get to share it with people who end up enjoying it as much as you do, there's something deeply satisfying about that. Plus, I felt you guys were always fairly priced, so it wasn't even like it cost me much to gift copies to people. You guys are one of the few companies I've enthusiastically supported by buying skins or extra copies or whatever, 'cause I genuinely always felt like you guys believed in what you were doing and respected your players. Plus, I felt like you enjoyed making the game, it had all of these funny quirks that could only come from a person putting themselves into the game.
I dunno, it's always resonated with me. In Goldilocks of the gaming world, something about Awesomenauts was "just right" for me.
I'm torn between hoping you guys stay a small studio like you are, because I don't want y'all to change, and hoping you guys become a large studio and keep your identity and integrity, because we need a AAA team with people like you guys.
Thanks for being an awesome community manager-type-person, Robin. I got about a million emails from you back when Starstorm was still in kickstarter. :)
If you guys ever need help on any projects, I'd love to volunteer some time to help out somehow. I'm an editor, so my skills are mostly writing/editing-related, but I'd love to help out if an opportunity ever arose.

Mobile isn't really our thing, but I guess it could happen at some point.
No offense, but I'm kind of glad to hear that. I feel like a lot of games that are being developed for mobile fall short, and it's become kind of a cash-grab more than anything in the traditional legacy of game design for the sake of providing people with entertainment, or an experience.
I have enjoyed your work on PC, and I'm glad to know you guys won't be jumping onto the bandwagon (though I imagine with enough resources you guys could probably make mobile games that put most of the existing market out there to shame).
I've wanted to thank you guys for a while now, to be honest, but I thought it would be kind of weird if I sent y'all a random email about it. I hadn't even noticed you guys would do an AMA today, I just stumbled across it, but I'm glad I got the chance to thank you guys finally. I hope you guys continue to make games for a long time to come.

Edit: my comment got removed for not asking a question, so do you guys plan to develop any games for mobile platforms? (end edit)
I don't think I have any questions, but I wanted to thank you guys for making Awesomenauts.
I have 1607 hours in that game on Steam. I've probably bought around 20 copies of the game, to give away so I had people to play with I knew.
I had some injuries around the time 'Nauts first came out and since I couldn't get around easily, I ended up playing a lot of 'Nauts instead. I loved it. A lot of my friends did too.
When I would get home from work, tired and stressed out, 'Nauts helped me relax. When I went through a divorce, 'Nauts helped me stay sane and keep my mind occupied. When my mom got cancer, 'Nauts was there to help me take my mind off of stuff when I had free time. Before I married my (current) wife, 'Nauts was the first game we played together, and we still do play it sometimes, though she's super into Stardew Valley right now.
Honestly, your game has been with me through some pretty difficult shit, and if it wasn't for 'Nauts I probably would have just drank myself to death. I know you don't set out to make a video game thinking you'll make a positive difference in people's lives necessarily, but you did, for me. You got me through some dark places, and I have a lot of fond memories with friends playing your game.
So thanks, to all of you guys, your whole team. 'Nauts helped me in ways I probably never really thought a video game could.
