You say you don't like the idea of people getting money for nothing. What about the rich who inherit their wealth without having to work for it? Do the rich stop working just because they don't have to?

When you say you can't trust the govt, what is it you're concerned about the govt doing?

I mean... those seem to pretty directly answer the questions posed...

1. Have you read the research?
2. Do you have a level of expertise comparable to OP to be able to materially support the notion that his position is "trust ME" instead of "trust the RESEARCH and being the expert in this topic who derived those conclusions"?
3. Do you have any post in this thread that says "disregard the shortcomings" without addressing the supporting research from other experts in the field like the IMF that are direct contradictions to the points that are being made, or the well informed perspective on the implications of the point attempting to be made? Do you have him actually "shitting all over the opposite side" or are you just taking it personally that the counters are being provided?

I'm betting "No" is a pretty big (not) spoiler.

gasp someone who is actively researching and examining UBI has found it to be beneficial and is arguing in support of it? Their data has lead them to a conclusion that is well supported and documented as such? But they support it, so they must be biased, so the objectivity of the supporting research is moot because someone has the audacity to have deduced the benefits and advocated for the positive effects!

Dude, between you, me, and OP, at least 2 out of 3 of us are peer-reviewed published, and I'd bet money you're not in that club. If you were, you could take one look at the research output documented in his UoB profile page and get "real answers" without the middle man.
