By gun noises I'd say the famous "pew pew pew" as an example.

Ok if I ever go on an helicopter tour in one of those where you sit next to the pilot the first i'll say is:

Hey... wanna make gun noises and pretend we are shooting stuff?

The answer I want to hear is: Ok, but i'll be the machine gun so you make the missles.
