Although we were thinking of you throughout the development of every feature (not /u/loranda specifically but the users in general), we want to provide you with the most intuitive experience possible. One that is optimized for touch and multiple form factors, but also excels in a traditional scenario.

I don't think so. I certainly haven't been involved in any spec reviews for rooting Lync. But of course, if I was and I told you so I would go to jail, right? Ugh. That's a great question. I wouldn't say there is a hurdle as such. I wish HD cameras were more prevalent.
