Hi Shaq! I played Shaq-Fu quite a bit when it first came out.

Three questions:
How involved were you in the development of the game (besides contributing your music and image)?
Did you play the game yourself after release?
Do you play any video games now-a-days?

How did the Life with Louie cartoon come about? How much of it was based on your actual friends/family growing up?

Almost all raptors are incapable of emotion. The exception is the Harris Hawk (Rufus is a Harris Hawk).

The relationship between falconer and raptor is that of convenience and trust. The owner is a steady source of food, which the raptor trusts to be provided, while the owner trusts the raptor to not fly away. There is no submission or obedience like that of a dog. Raptors are easily trained with food as a reward - some take but a few weeks to be fully trained. Some raptors are left with an open mews (housing) door because they will always return, for they know the master always provides.

TL;DR: Other than the Harris Hawk, all bonds are strictly based on a relationship of mutual need. The raptor needs food and comfort provided easily by the master, the master needs the raptor to do work and thus provides for the raptor.

In another response, you state that you are offering no judgement and that your only goal is record keeping to help people make informed policy decisions. With the current climate, many people (especially those on reddit) are under the impression that there's an epidemic of police abusing their authority and aimlessly killing at will, often with racial prejudice. Perception is reality and most folks don't go beyond a statistic or headline before they form their opinion. Are you planning to actively display your information in a way that prevents people from only using it to drive the negative narrative against police?
