This is known as the slack running In and can actually happen to anyone experienced or not the cars that they use to transport automobiles have cushioned drawbars to prevent the vehicles from getting damaged but can come in and throw people out of there seat. I was running as a brakemen.(conductors assistant for ease) and the slack ran in and slammed me out of my chair nearly dislocating my shoulder. This was from an experienced hoghead (engineer) at the controls.
