Former male teacher here. There were lots of reasons to quit. The last straw was when a parent came in to complain that I was obviously a pedophile because I'd wished her daughter a happy 5th birthday. She said she was a forensic investigator, so she knew about these things. I went as far away from the teaching field as I could get and would rather clean toilets for a living than to ever go back.

I will never forget the one time the news started with a story about "Blackberries" (the phone, not the fruit), which started Gilbert and Artie off with 10 minutes of "[black celebrity]-berry!" jokes. That particular news segment also led to the one and only time I've heard Howard dump out of the live feed to edit his show, because Gilbert made a sexual remark about 8yo Bindi Irwin. I was in pain and in tears of laughter by the end of the news that day.

"Recalculating... y'know what,maybe it's time to admit that this driving thing just isn't for you. Here, I'll just go ahead and direct you back home."

It's a similar thing, although DXing is easier with CB because it's AM in the 27-29MHz range which travels a lot further and more easily than FM in the 88-108MHz range. At the low frequencies like CB, you can actually talk across the planet under the right conditions using that atmospheric skipping you mentioned. It's pretty cool.
