Quiet announcers saying things like, “looks like our rookie is lining up for the butt on hole number 9.”

Which one is your favorite? Also, I noticed that some of these live in the "uncanny valley." Don't get me wrong, they are really good. Did any animals get "freaked out" by them? I saw the clip of the ape touching the "eye". Did they accept it after that? Did anything react in a hostile way? Do you try to recreate the animals' scent or anything beyond visual recreation?

There was a group of EMTs that came to our school one day and gave our class - probably first or second grade - a tour of their ambulance, they told us about their job, then after we had all been through the ambulance, they allowed us to ask us questions. Even after they told us what they did, none of the kids really understood what they did. All we knew was that they drove a big, loud truck with lights. So one of the kids asked, "Have you ever hit a deer with the ambulance?"

And all of a sudden the main EMT brightened up, laughed and said, "Oh yeah! What a mess! And we had to leave it there. Poor thing." Or something along those lines. And since it got such a big reaction from the EMTs, all the kids thought it would be a good idea to ask if they had ever hit [fill in the blank with any animal you could think of] with the ambulance. By about the 8th question with a different animal, the EMTs were visibly annoyed and my teacher was burying her head in her hands.

I thought to myself, "I can fix this!" I was a pretty quick-witted kid, I thought well on my feet, I was sure that I could come up with a good question before they called on me. So I put my hand up and was called on immediately. Apparently I had not eaten my Wheaties that morning. "Uh... have you... ehhhh.... Uhhhhmmmm... What color is your ambulance?" As I turned bright red, the entire class turned around to look at me and the main EMT turned and looked at the ambulance, which was right behind him.

He turned back to me and asked, "What color do you think it is?"

"Sorry." Is all I could muster.

That's what I think of when I read questions like this. Maybe they were put on the spot. lol
