I just called both my representatives. In each case the phone was answered by a real person on the first ring. I just said that I'm a constituent of Representative ____ and encourage them to support Representative Amash's amendment to HR-2397. They thanked me and said it would be passed along. One asked for my name. It took less than thirty seconds total.

If you're hesitating, please pick up the phone! It was faster and easier than ordering takeout.

Edit to add: This is the first time I've called my representatives on any topic. I had no idea it was that simple a process.

2nd edit: The list is out. Both my representatives voted against it. I'll be voting against them next chance I get.

Did removing nerve tissue from your leg result in impaired function in that leg at all? It seems like a lot to take out.

What do your physical therapy exercises look like, if you're willing to share? I'm currently doing vestibular rehab for chronic motion sickness, and have progressed from slowly turning my head from side to side, to doing the same with my eyes closed. It sounds unimpressive as heck, but it's actually really exciting and useful progress for me. I'm wondering what the paralysis recovery version of that is.

You, sir, are an accomplished musician. How much time are you spending figuring out how to play each piece before hitting the record button?

I've read some things about small amounts of blood crossing the placental barrier (that's how they can check for chromosome disorders with just a blood draw now), and it leading to the fetus "inheriting" some things from the pregnant woman whether or not they're genetically related. Did this come up in screening or was it a concern for you at all?
