Gonna just go ahead and dispel OPs assertion that naegleria is found in wells. While I'm sure it could be found in wells, it's mostly found in very warm bodies of surface water and it can actually be treated with chlorine. It also doesn't survive in cold water very well which is, like, 100% of surface water treatment plants. Most plants don't put intakes in tepid pools of hot water. While it is marginally possible for N. fowleri to get into water treatment plants, it's incredibly unlikely.

If the well isn't under the influence of surface water or drilled into a karst or other kind of cave system, it's definitely not a typical thing.

Do you operate a groundwater or surface water plant? Does your state have specific classifications for water supply licenses?
