Yes, no Crossfire. But, it's not about "liberal" and "conservative". I think it's more about bringing in opinions that are not a part of the East Coast Slate hive (not privy to your internal email conversations-which btw, I bet are fascinating in and of themselves.) "Liberals" and "Moderates" from Utah or California or Texas, would most likely have a viewpoint that, while similar, would be just diverse enough to add a bit more flavor to an already interesting conversation.

Emily, I have been a long time listener and for the most part really, really enjoy the slate podcasts. I especially appreciate your insight into SCOTUS issues. However, as a moderate living in Utah, it is often very apparent to me that you "New York Liberals" have no clue about what goes on west of Philly. Any plans on expanding the scope of the gabfest? Still love it, but it would be great to see a bit more cultural /political diversity.

I said in a different question how much I enjoy your SCOTUS coverage. Besides SCOTUSBlog, who else does great work covering the courts for us non-legal folks? Are there any podcasts you listen to that cover SCOTUS as a primary topic?

Again, I love the shows and the writing that Slate provides us, I think I enjoy it so much because it is so different than the normal day-to-day political discussions that I have here in SLC. It can sometimes feel like I live in an echochamber of voices that I just don't quite relate to. The podcast can sometimes feel like an echochamber of a different sort. There are lots of very interesting and intelligent people from around the country that could be brought into your discussions to provide different views to your East Coast fans as well. Something you have discussed on the gabfest in the past is this idea of like minded politicians only talking to to like minded politicians and like minded constituents and like minded lobbyists. Diversity is important at all levels of the process...gabfests included.
