While Barkley requires strong climbers it also seems to really favor strong runners too. Making the cut offs requires quite a bit of hustle. Heather is a fast hiker but I think she has said that she didn’t feel she was fast enough to have a chance. (Edit: at least in the two years she has gone for it)
