My question has two parts. Firstly, is Bonnie Tyler's iconic "Total Eclipse of the Heart" rooted in astronomical fact? (For instance, isn't it upheld by the geological record that once upon a time the moon was falling in love, but now it's slowly falling apart?) Secondly, and inarguably more importantly, the verb "to moon" someone has historically had a crude context. Do you feel that this unfairly casts the moon in a juvenile light, which it has no choice but to reflect back at the earth?
