For the record, the word agency is commonly used in the social sciences to refer to an individual's volition and how she executes it, what actions she takes relative to her will. It would likely be considered jargon in a few fields, sociology, philosophy, history, polisci, etc. There is a large literature on individual and collective agency and it is a central debate in the structural v post-structural dialogue.

I may be responding to what was a joke at the expense of Mormons, but I wanted to clarify. I am quite sure OP on this question was using "agency" in this context.

Did your therapists discuss the possibility with you that your impulses and offenses could escalate if you didn't learn how to control them? Therein is the another danger to what you did, yes?
