This sentiment is a real problem and I've had a hard time articulating what is wrong with the "everyone needs to go to college" bend of Sanders.

Well, if you become a ski instructor as a poor kid, your pass is free and you can get good deals on skis until you become good enough to get sponsored.

E: Also, in my state, most schools get super cheap passes for kids anyway. So until you graduate high school, it's a lot cheaper. And that's usually when they are already known as a professional ski candidate, mid high school age.
