Why are patients informed about signs of euphoric mania, and not signs of dysphoric mania?

Why are most patients unaware of the brain damage that comes from manic episodes?

And, worst of all, why are patients not informed by their physicians that most of the medication prescribed does little for bipolar depression?

It’s understandable but frustrating that so many drugs and procedures are tailored for mania or excluded because of mania risk, and yet the rest of us just suffer through unending depressive episodes, year after year, with only the occasional sprinkle of hypomania.

I further what the previous person said about the panelists. Many of you are excellent and scientifically informed. A real treat to read what you say.

Others are people who have bipolar, and unfortunately believe and are giving poor advice, such as advocating for marijuana use without knowing most research on bipolar and marijuana states marijuana is bad for mood.
