I have been told that most Russians were enamoured with the West in the 90s, to the point where Russia joining NATO was generally favored. Supposedly this changed dramatically when NATO bombed Serbia (over the Kosovo conflict, IIRC). Putin was a product of this shift, elected shortly after. How true do you think this is?

Have you ever thought of just leaving the region to live somewhere else in the world where you won't have to deal with this conflict? I'm not saying that's easy or possible, but is the situation severe enough that you would want to do that if you had the chance?
