Thank you for the reply. Forgot to add I am an Israeli.
However I do want to ask you - Hamas did try today to infiltrate Israeli kibbutz in order to kill citizens. Their aim was to kidnap or murder citizens, there is no other explanation to the attempt of 13 armed Hamas members to infiltrate a kibbutz.
Do you understand why Israelis and others see Hamas as a terror organization? They aim to civilians. Firing random rockets is a terrorist act, because they do not know where the rocket will land. Perhaps in a school, hospital, mosque, synagog, they don't know.
That said, I cannot understand how logically one can think Hamas is not executing terror attacks. I would appreciate if you could give me your thoughts on this.
Now, taking into account that in Gaza there are terror organizations operating against Israel, can you at least understand why Israelis feel it would be unsafe to remove the blockage without demilitarizing Gaza, at least for a period of a few years to see how things are going?
Thanks a lot again, I think these kind of dialogues are important, and I am glad it is possible.

You cannot justify terror by saying the other side is a terrorist. Even if Hamas would have slaughtered 10000 Israeli kids, it would not have given us the right to send random rockets into Gaza. So I am not accepting this argument of "They did bad things so I will also do bad things".
Israel cannot be demilitarized, because it is surrounded by enemies, and the moment it demilitarizes it faces the risk of being invaded. Now there is nothing I want more then peace, so let me tell you what I think could work:
Let's say that Abu Mazen and Fatah will be responsible taking care of the security of Gaza. Hamas and his military wing will not be responsible for that. Abu Mazen will sign an agreement in which he agrees to avoid terror forever, which will be supervised by the UN, USA, European union and etc, and in return Israel will remove the blockage and give you full support. So in other words - Kick Hamas out, ensure no terrorist organization will be operating in Gaza, and we can live side by side. If that happens, a beer on me!
Peace is the only way, hopefully one day it will be achieved, both with Gaza and the West Bank.

Alright so here's what we do: I will create a political party name "reddit", you start a small activist group who will rebel against Hamas.
It might take some time, but after we replace our governments, let's agree to sit down at my place or your place for beer/Coffey or whatever, and start working out the peace treaty.
We will open a subreddit for that name "Peace treaty negotiations" and consult redditors. Hopefully after that is done, we sign the peace treaty, and then we work together to build a worm-hole technology that will give us the chance to FINALLY visit Andromeda Galaxy.
Fair enough?

When did it happen? I know Abu Mazen had control of Gaza from 2005-2007 (at least from what I recall) but terror organizations still operated from Gaza, so the treaty as I described it never occurred.
I think we should give it a try. Unless you have a better solution.

Thank you for this AMA.
What do you think about Hamas? Do you think it is justified to call Hamas a terror organization?
Are the people of Gaza supporting the constant fire of rockets from Gaza to Israel? Is anyone in Gaza calling publicly to replace Hamas?
What do people think about the demand of Hamas from the citizens to stay in their houses even if IDF is requesting them to leave so they won't be harmed during the IDF's operation?
If you were the governor of Gaza, would you accept some kind of agreement in which Gaza will be fully demilitarized and in return the blockage will be removed and Israel will support the development of Gaza?
Thanks again.
