I had undiagnosed sleep apnea for (I believe) a number of years. Could this have caused permanent psychological or physiological damage?

(Eventually I got a sleep study and a CPAP thankfully)

There's a lot of tragic history in both of those places that you must have been a part of to some degree.

Enlisted pay is fairly generous, especially factoring in housing and subsistence. And education benefits.

Of course, when you're away from home for weeks or months at a time it sucks.
